Stonier Development

turning theory into practice

Frequently on training we are asked for insights and useful resources. Curated below are some of the best - and some that frankly we just really like.

  • Ray Dalio - Principles. Thoroughly recommend Ray’s book, particularly in audiobook format. This interview is a great summary.

  • Tim Ferriss. There are tonnes of great resources on Tim’s website. His podcast is excellent and The Four Hour Work Week is a brilliant book on how you can reimagine your work life.

  • Dan Pink is another brilliant thinker, author and speaker. His book Drive, which covers what motivates us, had a massive impact when it was released. We especially like To Sell Is Human. He argues that whatever your business, we all need to influence people. This is especially good because Dan has gone through all of the key books on influence and created his own steps when it comes to influencing others. This video for Harvard Business Review is a really good watch.

  • Networking is a topic we’re frequently asked to cover. Here’s a good guide to the fundamentals by Celeste Headlee. Quick and simple principles you can be mindful of when having conversations.

  • A common question in presentation skills training is “how do I control my nerves?” There are many factors at play, however Amy Cuddy’s work is often useful. Here is a short video explaining the core principles.
